Experimental systems, commissioning & instrumentation

My work has sat at the boundary between physics experiments, engineering hardware, controls, fabrication and facility systems. I am strongest when a complicated physical system needs to be built, integrated, brought online and understood.

Working style

I tend to learn systems from the physical equipment outward: what it has to do, how the hardware is arranged, what the interfaces are, what the instrumentation says, and how the system actually behaves during startup and operation.

I work well with formal engineering specialists while contributing a field-oriented perspective on constructability, integration, diagnostics, commissioning and maintainability.
